Rooftop Movie Night: The Princess Bride Kicks Off Hunger Action Month Food Drive - Bring 3 Items, Park Free at 5th Avenue Garage

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA) and EasyPark invite the community to a magical evening under the stars with a free rooftop screening of The Princess Bride—and a chance to fight hunger during September’s Hunger Action Month. Attendees who bring three (3) non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Alaska will receive validated parking at the 5th Avenue Garage.

“Great movies bring people together—and this September, we’re channeling that energy to support our neighbors,” said Melinda Gant, External Affairs Director. “Every can and box collected at the rooftop screening goes straight to the Food Bank of Alaska to help families across our city.”

ACDA and EasyPark also announced a second community food drive for Saturday, October 25, 2025, during Trick or Treat Street in Downtown Anchorage, giving residents another opportunity to donate and keep the momentum going into the fall.
