ANCHORAGE, AK – Acting Mayor Austin Quinn-Davidson has announced that Melinda Gant will serve as Acting Executive Director of Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA), effective Friday, April 2, 2021. Ms. Gant, who has been with ACDA since 1996, will serve as Acting Executive Director through the current mayoral administration.
The Acting Mayor expressed her thanks to Ms. Gant for stepping up and serving ACDA and the community at such a critical time.
In her 21 years at ACDA, Melinda Gant has worked on a number of large projects, including the development of Glenn Square Shopping Center, Northpoint Bluff housing project in Government Hill, rebranding the Anchorage Parking Authority to EasyPark, overseeing ACDA’s 6th Avenue project and 96 Flats, and serving as the liaison for the Board of Directors and oversight of strategic planning.
“I have the utmost confidence in Melinda’s abilities to serve as interim Executive Director for the agency,” said Mike Mills, Board Chair for ACDA. “Melinda has been deeply involved with ACDA’s development projects, and I am confident that she will be effective in helping ACDA achieve its parking and development goals.”
