Anchorage Community Development Authority Applies for Federal Funding to Expand EV Charging Infrastructure
Anchorage, AK – August 6, 2024 – The Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA) is excited to announce its application for federal funding aimed at installing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in publicly accessible locations throughout the Municipality of Anchorage. This initiative focuses particularly on underserved communities to ensure equitable access to EV charging facilities.
As the demand for electric vehicles continues to grow, the need for a robust and accessible charging network becomes increasingly important. This project aims to support the transition to cleaner energy by providing the necessary infrastructure to encourage EV adoption. The installation of these charging stations will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality, and support Anchorage’s commitment to sustainability.
To ensure the project meets the needs of the community, ACDA is seeking input from residents through a brief survey. The feedback collected will play a vital role in shaping the deployment of the EV charging stations and identifying priority locations.
"We are committed to making Anchorage a leader in sustainable transportation and ensuring that all communities have access to the benefits of electric vehicles," said Mike Robbins, Executive Director at ACDA. "Your feedback is essential in helping us achieve this goal, and we appreciate your participation in the survey."
The EV charging infrastructure project is part of a broader effort by ACDA to enhance public amenities and support the Municipality's climate action goals. By investing in this technology, Anchorage is taking a significant step towards a greener and more connected future.
