ACDA Honored with Excellence in Local Government Award

The Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA) received an Excellence in Local Government Award at the Alaska Municipal League (AML) Conference for its innovative efforts to address Anchorage’s housing challenges. The award recognizes ACDA’s collaboration with the Municipality of Anchorage, municipal departments, the Assembly, the Mayor’s Office, AWWU, and Alaska’s federal and state representatives.

ACDA has been instrumental in tackling vacant and abandoned properties, advocating for tax incentives, and promoting denser development to revitalize neighborhoods and increase housing availability.

Mike Robbins, Executive Director of ACDA, praised the recognition, stating, “ACDA’s work has been critical in addressing Anchorage’s housing needs. Our innovative approach and strong collaboration are helping build a more vibrant and livable community.”

Mr. Robbins added, “This award reflects the power of partnership and innovation in solving housing challenges and strengthening our neighborhoods.”

ACDA will be accepting the award at tonight’s Anchorage Assembly meeting.

ACDA remains committed to pursuing innovative approaches to housing development, supporting vibrant neighborhoods, and building a stronger Anchorage for all residents.
